Revenue Accountant

Position Summary

Bayswater is an oil & gas exploration and production company seeking an individual to perform all the general revenue accounting duties for the Bayswater companies operated and non-operated oil and gas interests.  This position will include all the accounting duties and responsibilities related to revenue entry, processing, review, as well as regulatory compliance including tax reporting, government agency reporting, and distributing royalty payments.  The revenue accountant position with Bayswater will report to the Operations Accounting Manager and oversee the Contract Revenue Accountant. This position will be based in Denver, Colorado.

Major Responsibilities 

  • Processing of all operated and non-operated revenue receipts for oil, gas, and plant products in Colorado and Texas
    • Timely and accurate processing of the monthly revenue distribution cycle including generating the check run and ACH files
    • Revenue data entry into Bolo accounting system
      • Including combining non-operated revenue for several Bayswater entities
      • Reviewing and approving revenue processed by the Contract Revenue Accountant
    • Review and analyze purchaser statements to ensure appropriate payment
  • Create monthly invoices for revenue purchasers (currently 3)
  • Create and review production allocations and review production allocations prepared by third-party consultants
  • Understand and maintain component decks for various revenue deductions and ensure royalty and working interest owners are credited in the prescribed manner
  • Create and process revenue sales reversals and corrections
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual close accounting entries and complete reconciliations on related GL accounts
  • Preparation and timely filing of regulatory, royalty and tax reports and payments to various state and federal government agencies including severance taxes, ad valorem taxes, and conservation taxes
  • Assist with providing revenue audit support
  • Respond to revenue owner inquiries and requests
  • Maintain and process voided revenue checks including owner adjustments, as needed
  • Assist and communicate with the land department in formulating and maintaining revenue decks
  • Assist with acquisition integration and divestiture transition
  • Prepare and file Colorado Form DR21 for various Bayswater entities and generate DR21Ws for royalty owners
  • Perform other duties, projects and tasks as assigned

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications

  • Strong academic and accounting credentials
  • Upstream oil and gas industry experience preferred; upstream oil & gas
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of the upstream revenue transaction cycle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Bolo accounting system preferred
  • Comfortable working with large data sets in Excel/Access and the heavy use of pivot tables and financial functions

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary dependent on experience, range of $90k – $115k + discretionary bonus
  • Company subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Employer annual 401(k) contribution equivalent to 3% of your compensation

  • ½ day Fridays Working Remotely (Mon-Thurs 9-hr days in office)
